US President Donald Trump launched a blunt attack on the “culture of cancellation” – a fashionable concept that has seen Americans ostracized for expressing opinions at odds with the mainstream – marking the brand as the mark of totalitarianism.
Speaking at the ‘Salute America’ event to mark Independence Day at the Mount Rushmore National Memorial in South Dakota on Friday, Trump did not punch in the notorious phenomenon that became known as “canceling culture”. The idea led to the “cancellation” of public figures and ordinary Americans, typically expelled from educated society for their views on polarizing social issues, such as race and gender.

While the culture of cancellation has claimed victims from all walks of life and all political origins, progressive activists have been arming social media to disparage those who fail to conform to traditional narratives or their politically correct views.
“One of your political weapons is to ‘cancel culture’. Taking people away from their jobs, shaming dissidents and demanding total submission from those who disagree, ”said Trump at the event, arguing that the concept of toxic had no place in American society.
This is the very definition of totalitarianism and is completely foreign to our culture and values and has absolutely no place in the United States of America.
In his witty speech, Trump also referred to what he described as “far-left fascism”, an apparent reference to members of Antifa, a loose group of left-wing radicals who tried to hijack peaceful protests against police brutality brought about by the man’s death African-American George Floyd in police custody in late May.

“There is a new far-left fascism that demands absolute loyalty. If you don’t speak your language, perform your rituals, recite your mantras and follow your commandments, then you will be censored, banned, blacklisted, persecuted and punished,” he said. .
Trump promised to release all the power of the law over those who seek to “defame our heroes, erase our values and indoctrinate our children”, doubling his promise to punish vandals with long prison terms.
