David Oyelowo has been cast to star in the new Showtime series entitled 'The President Is Missing'. The information is from Variety.
The project is based on the eponymous book by Bill Clinton and James Patterson, which was released last year.
The story revolves around a vice president without any political power or ambition (Oyelowo) who unexpectedly becomes President of the United States despite never wanting the job. It doesn't take long for him to enter a crisis-ridden, secretive world, both inside and outside the White House.
Enjoy to watch:
Attacked by both his friends and enemies, with scandals and conspiracies revolving around him, he finds himself faced with a terrible choice: keep his head down to survive, or follow his conscience to position himself.
Oyelowo was nominated for a Golden Globe for her performance in the drama Selma, in which she played Martin Luther King Jr. Soon after, I am nominated for an Emmy for her work on Nightingale. Her other projects include the miniseries Les Misérables, The Cloverfield Paradox, Queen of Katwe and A Fold in Time.
Filming of the pilot episode should begin in 2020. Anthony Peckham is responsible for the script.
