Google I / O 2020: Event for developers starts on May 12th

Google announced today that the new edition of its annual developer conference, Google I / O, will be held May 12-14 at the Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, California. The date was confirmed on Twitter by CEO Sundar Pichai.

In previous editions of the event, Google took the opportunity to announce new smartphones and other news related to its products. In 2019 the company used the event to announce the Pixel 3A and Pixel 3A XL smartphones, Google Nest Hub Max, the third test version of Android 10, a revamped gesture navigation system and the "Project Mainline" update system, which aims to make Android more modular to facilitate its update.

For the 2020 edition, there is a good chance of seeing the Pixel 4A announcement, which would confirm the rumors that are circulating on the Web. This new model would have a thinner-edged screen, 3.5mm headphone jack and reader fingerprint on the back.

If Google follows the typical Android timeline, we will see the first beta of Android 11 in March, a second beta in April and a third beta announced during the Google I / O conference.

You might think that a third beta would not be very interesting, being focused only on bug fixes, but last year it introduced many of the new features with the third beta of Android 10 during the event.
