Ava Karabatic, a former Playboy model, reality show star and artist, threw his hat in the ring for the Croatian presidential elections of 2020 on a broad platform for the country's youth vote.
The 31-year-old former made the announcement through her Instagram account and staff blog.
The core principles of its platform include increasing exports and reducing imports, improving youth employment, entering the Schengen area and banning abortion after six weeks. She also plans to legalize marijuana and prostitution to keep sex workers safe and increase tax revenues.
"I decided to run for president," wrote Karabatic. “Politics is my second love. I can no longer look at all those bad things that happen in my country. <...> Young people are leaving, the birth rate is falling. "
Describing himself as the “perfect choice for the President of the Republic of Croatia”, Karabatic will face strong opposition from the current Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović, 51, who has enjoyed his own international fame.

Many of Karabatic's political ideas seem to be of a rather progressive nature. While she believes that "cannabis has a healing effect on people," she acknowledges that her proposed abortion legislation can be divisive, but says she is not afraid to keep her convictions.
"To me, abortion after week 6 is murder and moral morals … Of course this would not apply to raped women and if incest occurred."
