Today we arrive at the municipal powerful city of Bruges.

A medieval fantasy sim, in an era where Burgundy is a kingdom itself and becomes the cultural center of Europe during the 15th century.

In this period of history, the Bourgeoisie are rising rapidly in their power thanks to the success of commerce and coin, and are changing medieval society with the urbanization of cities…

Land profile

Our story takes places in Bruges, which is in modern-day Belgium but currently a domain of France and the Duke of Burgundy.

Although our sim is inspired by history, it still remains a low fantasy story at its core.

French Citizens of the city feel conflicted as the Duchy breaks away from France and allies with the English King.

However, they are resilient and accustomed to change as the Burgundy lands have been stretching into the Low Countries (Netherlands, Belgium, etc) in the passing years.

They are already familiar with Flemish, German, and English sharing their city.

But the Golden Age that is upon them makes forgetting cultural differences easy with the flowing of coins.
